Delivering new value to users quickly is crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the market. However, frequent deployments come with significant risks. The challenge lies in ensuring service reliability while improving productivity. In this session, we will discuss progressive delivery, which balances productivity and reliability, using PipeCD, a GitOps tool. Specifically, we will discuss the introduction and utilization of GitOps through a case study from ABEMA, a major video streaming service in Japan. Based on a trunk-based development approach, we will explain specific strategies and tools to make frequent and minor changes, introduce canary deployment, and automate metrics analysis for rollback to enhance productivity and reliability. Through this presentation, participants will gain insights into the concrete implementation methods and benefits of progressive delivery using GitOps and the introduction and utilization of GitOps in large organizations. By sharing these experiences, we contribute to the evolution of the entire GitOps ecosystem.
